Privacy policy
Private by design.
Effective and last updated: 3 August 2026
The short version
CalmAid requires no account. Journal entries and custom emotions stay on your device. Optional anonymous usage analytics are off by default and never include journal text or the emotion you selected.
Data stored on your device
Journal entries, custom emotion names, and related app preferences are stored locally on your device. CalmAid does not sync this content to our servers. You can delete journal entries in the app. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data, subject to your device and backup settings.
Optional anonymous product analytics
Anonymous usage analytics are disabled by default. If you enable “Share anonymous usage analytics” in Settings, CalmAid uses Mixpanel to process limited product events that help us understand and improve onboarding, Quick Calm, completed sessions, paywall interactions, purchases, restore attempts, settings, and review prompts.
These events may include an anonymous app/device identifier, event time, selected subscription plan label, purchase outcome category, onboarding step number, and completed-session duration. We disable automatic event collection and IP-based geolocation.
We do not send your name, email, account identity, journal text, selected emotion, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone data, camera data, or health records to analytics. Turning analytics off stops future events from being sent. Mixpanel may process technical request information necessary to operate its service under its own privacy and security terms.
Purchases
Apple processes CalmAid subscriptions and payment details. CalmAid receives transaction and entitlement information needed to show your subscription status. We do not receive your full payment-card information.
Permissions and advertising
CalmAid does not request access to contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera for its current features. We do not sell personal information and do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Children
CalmAid is not directed to children under 13. If you are below the age required in your region, use the app only with a parent or guardian.
Your choices and requests
- Keep analytics disabled or change the setting at any time.
- Delete individual journal entries in CalmAid.
- Uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data, subject to device backups.
- Contact us with privacy questions or requests.
Because optional analytics are not connected to an account, name, or email, we may not be able to associate an anonymous event record with a particular person.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when CalmAid’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will show the latest revision.
