Data stored on your device

Journal entries, custom emotion names, and related app preferences are stored locally on your device. CalmAid does not sync this content to our servers. You can delete journal entries in the app. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data, subject to your device and backup settings.

Optional product usage analytics

Usage analytics are disabled by default. If you choose to help improve CalmAid, Mixpanel processes limited product events through its EU endpoint. These help us find confusing screens, incomplete exercises and purchase-flow problems, and understand whether people return to practice. They are not evidence of medical outcomes.

Events may include screens and buttons used, onboarding step numbers, session completion and coarse duration ranges, journal-save success or failure (never content), subscription plan and displayed price/currency, purchase outcome categories, restore attempts and randomly generated visit/session identifiers. The SDK also includes event time, app and operating-system version, device model, screen dimensions and network-type information. Automatic event collection, session replay and IP-based geolocation are not enabled.

A random app-install identifier groups events for product analysis. These records are pseudonymous, not completely anonymous. We do not identify analytics records with your name, email, RevenueCat user identifier or advertising identifier, and do not combine them with data from other companies for advertising.

We do not send your name, email, account identity, journal text, selected emotion, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone data, camera data, or health records to analytics. Mixpanel necessarily receives technical network information, such as an IP address when connecting, to operate and secure its service; disabling geolocation does not hide the network request from the provider.

You can decline without losing app features. Open Settings → Privacy & Data to change your choice. Depending on your app version, the control is labelled “Share anonymous usage analytics” or “Help improve CalmAid”; it may also appear in the onboarding recap. Turning it off stops new analytics collection. Requests already sent and events already received are not recalled or automatically deleted.

We have prepared an app update that also provides Privacy & Data directly from the free-session and subscription screens. These additional entry points are not yet in the publicly released app. The policy on this page is accessible without a subscription or account.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions and payment details. RevenueCat processes transaction and subscription status, purchase history, app-user identifiers and technical app/device information to validate and restore access. This subscription functionality is separate from optional usage analytics. We do not send journal content or selected emotions to RevenueCat and do not link its user identifier to Mixpanel. We do not receive full payment-card information.

Permissions and advertising

CalmAid does not request access to contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera for its current features. We do not sell personal information. We do not send app usage or purchase events to Meta for advertising, build advertising audiences from these events, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. RevenueCat ad integrations and Mixpanel advertising destinations are not enabled for CalmAid.

Children

CalmAid is not directed to children under 13. If you are below the age required in your region, use the app only with a parent or guardian.

Your choices and requests

• Keep analytics disabled or change the setting at any time.
• Delete individual journal entries in CalmAid.
• Uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data, subject to device backups.
• Contact us with privacy questions or requests.

Because optional analytics are not connected to an account, name or email, we may not be able to associate a pseudonymous event record with a particular person. Contact us for access or deletion requests; we will explain what identifying information is needed. Disabling collection does not itself delete historical data or Apple/RevenueCat subscription records.

Changes to this policy
